For those who wonder what all the letters stand for. Here are some acronyms used in Prepping by Preppers:
Acronyms:
A.B.C. (1) = Atomic, Bacteriological, Chemical
A.B.C.(2) = Airway, Breathing, Circulation
B.B.B.B. = Breathing, Bleeding, Breaks, Burns
Bug Out = Leaving the area
B.O.B. = Bug Out Bag
B.O.L = Bug Out Location
B.O.R = Bug Out Route
B.O.V. (1) = Bug Out Vest
B.O.V. (2) = Bug Out Vehicle
Cache = A remotely located storage
CASE.VAC.= Casualty Evacuation
E.D.C. = Every Day Carry
F.A.K. = First Aid Kit
G.H.B = Get Home Bag
G.O.O.D = Get Out Of Dodge
I.N.C.H. Bag = I’m Not Coming Home Bag
B.I.B. = Bug In Bag
K.F.S. = Knife, Fork, Spoon
L.E.D. = Light Emitting Diode
M.R.E = Meals Ready to Eat
No Duff = This is not a drill
P.M.A = Positive Mental Attitude
P.S.K = Personal Survival Kit
P.S.P. = Personal Survival Plan
P.A.W. = Post Apocalyptic World
P.D.W = Personal Defense Weapon
P.E.K. = Personal Escape Kit
P.P.P.P.P.P. = Proper Planning & Preparation, Prevents Poor Performance
PREP = Preparations
P.O.C.S.I.E. = Planning, Ordering, Controlling, Supporting, Informing, Evaluating
S.A.K. = Swiss Army Knife
S.E.R.E. = Survival, Escape, Resistance, Evasion
S.I.T.X. = Situation X
S.I.T.R.E.P. = Situation Report
O.P.S.E.C = Operation Security
T.V. = Travel Vest
S.S.S.S.S.S. = Sound, Shape, Shine, Shadow, Smell, Silhouette
W.T.S.H.T.F. = When The Shit Hits The Fan
L.G.S = Local Gun Shop
M.B.R = Main Battle Rifle
C.Q.C = Close Quarters Combat
C.Q.B = Close Quarters Battle
C.C.P = Concealed Carry Permit
C.C.W = Concealed Carry Weapon
C.W.P = Concealed Weapons Permit
P.S.A = Personal Sidearm
L.R.G = Long Range Gun
L.R.W = Long Range Weapon
J.I.C = Just In Case
DECON = Decontamination
E.M.P = Electromagnetic Pulse
W.M.D = Weapons Mass Destruction

F.I.F.O = first in first out
F.W.I.W = for what it’s worth
G.T.G = good to go
L.I.A = little ice age
N.B.C = nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare
P.O.V = personally owned vehicle
P.O.W = personally owned weapons
F.U.D. = Fear, uncertainty and doubt.
Alpha Strategy= The practice of storing extra consumable items, as a hedge against inflation, and for use in barter.
C.B.R.N.= A catch-all acronym ---- for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear.
F.I.F.O. = first in first out (food rotation)
F.W.I.W. = for what it’s worth
G.T.G = good to go
L.I.A = little ice age
N.B.C = nuclear chemical biological warfare
P.O.V = personally owned vehicle
P.O.W = personally owned weapons
Crunch = A general term for a major, long-term disaster.
E.D.C = Every Day Carry. (What one carries at all times).
E.O.T.W. = End of the world
(E.M.P) = Electromagnetic pulse.
G.O.O.D. = Get Out of Dodge. (Fleeing urban areas in the event of a disaster).
I.N.C.H. Bag:== “I’m never coming home bag”. Designed to support the life of its owner indefinitely, as opposed to B.O.B.s which are oriented for short term survival while traveling to a B.O.L..
Pollyanna or Polly = Someone who is in denial about the disruption that might be caused by the advent of a large scale disaster.
C.b.w = chemical biological warfare
S.H.T.F. = Shit Hits the Fan. A term used generically by survivalists to describe disaster situations
T.E.O.T.W.A.W.K.I = The End of the World as We Know It.
W.R.O.L = Without Rule of Law. (Describes a potential lawless state of society)
W.Y.W.C.C.D.= when your wife cant cook dinner
E.M.F.H. = every man for himself.
